About Rodgers & Browne

Estate agency has changed dramatically over the years from the race to acquire offices in every town to the sprint to close them again. From black & white brochures with no photographs, to full colour press advertising and the ability to promote property worldwide through the internet.

However, one aspect remains constant - people.

Property is not sold by faceless web sites or online services it is sold by people to people. The technical advances merely assist in that process. As the biggest transaction in a life time few would be comfortable leaving the marketing of their home to the electronic version of the speaking clock! Who do you get advice from and who do you complain to when it all goes wrong? Buying and selling property should be an easy process but it is fraught with hurdles and challenges where only the expertise and personal attention of a professional and trusted estate agent can help. Rodgers & Browne is such a company.

So, what makes a good estate agent? There is no substitute for experience, local knowledge, the ability to understand the hopes and aspirations of a client and the needs and wants of a potential purchaser. Patience also is a valuable quality together with the ability to listen especially when a sale can be brought about under stressful circumstances. Add to this a sound knowledge of the market and an honest, professional attitude and that's all that's needed!

With a combined experience of over 55 years Rodgers & Browne offer such a service.

Yes, we embrace the latest technology to promote property worldwide and to run our 'in office' systems but none of these are designed to be a substitute for talking to people and taking time to understand client needs.

Understanding our clients needs…

Yes, we embrace the latest technology to promote property worldwide and to run our 'in office' systems but none of these are designed to be a substitute for talking to people and taking time to understand client needs.

The modern age has undoubtedly become faster and more demanding - we live in a 'now' society. This need for information quickly and precisely has also lead to an understandably more demanding and less tolerant expectancy of service. At Rodgers & Browne we recognise and understand that demand and have tailored our service accordingly.

Our bespoke back office computer system is specifically designed to track all property transactions from registration to completion and includes a full audit of the entire process. Keeping in contact with clients (buying or selling) is a vital element in helping transactions run smoothly and efficiently. Our system therefore records full details of interested parties at initial enquiry stage making repeat appointments and follow up calls much more streamlined and efficient. It also generates the associated correspondence to comply with our professional and legal obligations. Our system records when those letters are sent, when phone calls are made and when offers are put forward - including not only the date but the time they were made.

This assists us in maintaining the high standard of client care our clients demand and expect.

From our purpose built offices in the centre of Holywood High Street everyone receives the highest standard of help and attention - and coffee too if you like! Sometimes all that is required is some general advice on other occasions the agenda can be very specific and precise. Either way we will always be pleased to see you and will take the time to listen.

when it comes to property - you know where to come.

A sound knowledge of the local market and a professional approach is vital in advising developer clients when considering new projects. Input into the design, mix of property types and finishes can assist in getting the right product to sell in that market. Development appraisal of the site also assists in establishing its viability, its land value and potential return. Expertise in marketing the finished scheme, generating enquiries and maximising opportunities is vital to make a good scheme a successful and profitable one.

Michael G. Rodgers

FNAEA FNAVA

Michael started in estate agency in 1976 with Brian Morton & Company - at a time when the sale of a house in Malone Park for £100,000 made real headlines.

Then, there was a defined training program where knowledge and experience in all estate agency disciplines was expected - from ground rent management to residential sales and commercial management to residential lettings.

This created a knowledge and appreciation of the variations within each area of expertise and helped find which of those each person was best suited to.

As a director for a Plc chain in the past and then a partner in The Eric Cairns Partnership, Michael has experience of a locally owned and run practice and in the mechanics of a large corporate chain.

His knowledge in the market has largely been focused in Greater Belfast and North Down where RODGERS & BROWNE are now based. This specialty has mainly been in residential sales, rentals and new development projects.
